The term cement systems refers to the oxides that are defined to form cement hydrates and secondary phases. For example, a Ca-Si-C system uses only the oxides of Ca, Si and C and related hydrates such as portlandite, C-S-H and calcite. When hydration is simulated, also only those oxides are released during clinker hydration.
